Bring a lightweight daypack
Bring unlocked phone (get cheap SIM cards in each country)
Get to know local people and there language most people are very social and friendly
Have a secure zipper pocket to carry money, passport, documents
Have copies of your passport these will be very important!
Never put sunglasses and small items down where you will forget them!
Small Electronics only not heavy (kindle, mini iPad, Macbook Air)
Take warm layer (puffy jacket-folds small)
Travel light (carry-on only)
Versatile shoes (tevas, keens, sneakers bring as few shoes as possible)
